Regina, Jadvyga (Rutkauskaite) Boston: Formerly of Rochester, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2016. She was the wife of the late Vincas Regina. She is survived by her beloved family: son, Edmund and daughter-in-law Nan; daughter, Violet; grandson, Edmund (Ned), Jr. and granddaughter-in-law Julie Winslow; great-grandsons, Elias and Kai, all of the Boston area. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the US, Canada and Lithuania. For over thirty years she was a leader in the cultural life of the Lithuanian community in Rochester. Through her avocation as the long-time director of the Lithuanian folk dance group "Lazdynas" she fostered the love of dance as the expression of their cultural heritage in generations of young people that was shared through numerous performances and competitions throughout the US as well as at the Vatican and in Lithuania. She also worked with the Rochester Arts Council and was a member of numerous city planning and organizing committees for festivals, celebrations and educational events and exhibits. Her family will receive friends WEDNESDAY 5:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends and family are cordially invited to meet the family THURSDAY 10am at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CHURCH (150 Varinna Dr.) for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Sherrill House, 135 So. Huntington Ave., Boston MA 02130.
