Balanik, Nina Rochester: Peacefully on October 7, 2016. Predeceased by her beloved parents Anna and Fedir. Survived by her sister Tatiana, cousins, family in Ukraine and loving friends Lana, Mary and Joanie. At a young age, Nina was proficient in several languages. A degree in French from Bradley University paved the way for her career as a French language and literature teacher. Her passion for travel and knowledge of multiple languages led her to a career in travel. Nina possessed a "joie de vivre" even while enduring numerous medical problems. She will be remembered for her cultural interests in music, the arts and gardening. Special gratitude to Dr. Alfred Malomo for his astute and compassionate care. Contributions may be made to St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church or ElderONE. Friends are invited to her Panachyda Wednesday 9:30 am at the funeral home, followed by her Divine Liturgy 10:00 am St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Interment Riverside Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church or ElderONE.
