Eichner, James Leo Irondequoit: November 9, 2016 at age 93. Born in Columbus, OH. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie Shay Eichner, sons Jeffrey (Dr. Esther Tanzman), Richard (MaryJo), and John (Carol), daughter Anne Eichner-Wilczewski (Walter Wilczewski), 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. James served in the Army in WWII and in the Allied Occupation Forces in Japan after the war. He then returned to Columbus and graduated from Ohio State University. He began his career in 1948 at Eastman Kodak Company, where he met his wife and served for many years as the Manager of the Corporate Tax Department before retiring in 1988. After retirement, he and his wife volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels in the Irondequoit area for 20 years. He and his wife were also founding members of Christ the King Church. James was very devoted to his family and a wonderful role model, and loved his Ohio State Buckeyes. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. on November 13 at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway South. His Funeral Mass will be held Monday,11:00 am at St.Kateri at Christ The King Church. Interment private.In lieu of flowers, interested persons may donate to Meals on Wheels of the Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester or a charity of their choice.
