Dawson, James J. "Papa"/"Grandpa D" Webster: October 15, 2017 at age 79. Predeceased by infant daughter, Susan Margaret; parents, Bernadine and Charles Dawson; in-laws, Irene and Frank Froehler, sister-in-law, Marilyn Froehler Semrau, and brother-in-law, Robert F. Froehler. Survived by the love of his life, his wife of 60 years, Margaret (Peg); children, Daniel (Karen), Ann Marie and Alan (Linda); grandchildren, Brendan (Lindsey), Leah, Eric, James, Sierra, Jordan, and Kaidan; great-grandchildren, Damon and Olive. Jim is also survived by his brother, Donald (Dorothy) Dawson; sister-in-law, Christine Froehler; brother-in-law, Terrence Semrau and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Jim retired from Rochester Telephone Company (Frontier) after 36 years of service. For many years in retirement, he volunteered at WXXI Public Broadcasting and Meals on Wheels. He also served as a reservist for the U.S. Navy. An accomplished artist, Jim was a member of the Irondequoit Art Club for many years. No prior calling hours. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 23 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 783 Hard Rd., Webster. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, NY 14580, or a favorite charity.
