Please share a memory of Raissa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Reitter, Raissa (Nuth, Rakutis) "Grandma Raisin" West Irondequoit: Raissa/Raja left us peacefully on September 30, 2012. She went home into the loving arms of Jesus and was greeted there by her parents, Elmar and Natalie Nuth; nephew Timothy E. Nuth and grandson Andrew-Paul Hunt. Raissa leaves her loving husband, George; beloved daughters, Viktorija (Paul) Hunt and Jolita (David) Fornuto; and her cherished grandchildren, Caroline, Aleksandr "Alek-Paul", Natalie "Nina", Audrey and David. In addition, she leaves the Nuth family members in California, brother Ivo (Mary Strenn); nephew, Michael (Jane); and niece Rene. Raissa was admired by many special friends and extended family members including her "Sisters in Christ" at Hope Lutheran Church, as well as George's family, Bill, Richard, Jim and Ellen, Keith and Cindy, Kevin, Laura and Ted Heinrich and the Reitter grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Raissa appreciated the beauty in life be it through nature, music, theatre or art. She had an undying thirst for knowledge and inspired many by her exuberance towards life. Her memory was exceptional and she took care to always acknowledge the special dates and accomplishments of others. She enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening and baking but there was no greater joy in her world then to speak of, or be with, her grandchildren. "Grandma Raisin" has left us with wisdom to live by and many memories to cherish. The family wishes to extend gratitude to Dr. Eugene Toy and his team along with the caring staff of Highland Hospital/ 5 EAST. In addition, we thank members of the Palliative Care unit and VNS Hospice Care team. Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Raissa's life at 1:00pm on Thursday at Hope Lutheran Church. Interment Private.
