Murray, C.S.B, Rev. John C. Pittsford. Monday, December 3, 2012 at the age of 82. Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Ann Murray, sister, Barbara Murray (Sister Mary Cecilia, O.P.), uncles, Rev. Will "Pike" Murray, C.S.B, Rev. Vi McIntyre, C.S.B, Rev. John McIntyre, C.S.B and his cousin Rev. William Coughlin, C.S.B. Father John is survived by his brothers, William Murray of Ocala, FL., Thomas (Patricia) Murray of Atlanta, GA., sister, Jean(Gerald)McGuire of Ventura, CA., several nieces and nephews, 1 grandniece and several grand nephews. Father is also survived by his Basilian Confreres. Father Murray was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Detroit, MI., he also graduated from Assumption University and holds a Doctorate of Sacred Theology from the Angelicum in Rome. Father taught Theology at St. John Fisher College from 1966 to 2001. For several decades Father Murray worked with Marriage Encounter, he was also a Chaplain to Caritas Christi. Calling hours will be held Thursday 3:00-7:00pm at the funeral home, where an Evening Prayer will follow at 7:00pm. Fr. John will lie in state on Friday from 9:30am until his Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Kateri at Christ the King Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Basilian Fathers Scholarship Fund at St. John Fisher College, 3690 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14618.
