Obituary of Demosthenes Speedy

Speedy, Demosthenes "Daniel" Irondequoit: Thursday, June 6, 2013. Pre-deceased by his parents Boshe and Petra Speedy, brother Charles Speedy, first wife Geraldine Speedy. Mr. Speedy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Lillian Speedy. Children, Diane (Glen) Crombach, Susan & Linda Speedy, David Speedy, grandsons Glen and Jeremy Crombach, sisters Lillian A. Speedy, Kathleen (Donald) Howard, brother Thomas (Nancy) Speedy, many nieces & nephews. Dan was co-owner and president of Speedy's Cleaners where he worked for 58 years. He retired in 1999. In addition to loving his family Dan had a passion for fishing, horses and playing poker. In his lifetime he has generously helped many people financially and morally. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the 7th floor at Strong Memorial Hospital for their loving and professional care shown to Daniel. His family will receive friends SUNDAY 1-5pm at the funeral home, prayer service 4pm(570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family MONDAY 10:00 AM at ST. DIMITRIA MACEDONIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH for his funeral mass. Interment Irondequoit Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Wilmont Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave. Rochester, NY 14642.
