Obituary of Janice R. LaPietra

LaPietra, Janice R. (Wood) Irondequoit. Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the age of 71. Janice is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years Antonio, children, Andrew(Lynn), Matthew, Christine(Hector)Vargas, Peter(Dawn), Philip(Tonia) and Mary, grandchildren, Jordan, Fletcher & Caleb, Hector, Antonio, Daniel & Giovanna, Alexandria & Jacob, Joan, her sister, Kristine, several nieces and nephews and her dear friend Marilyn Lootens. Janice was the # 1 sports fan to her children and grandchildren. She was involved in numerous community organizations for over 46 years as a resident of Irondequoit, including Scouts, Irondequoit Vikings, CYAA Baseball, CCD, PTA Scotch Shop and others. She had a 20-plus year career with the RCSD in Food Service Administration. She graduated from Charlotte High School in 1959. Her family will receive friends Friday 2:00 - 4:00pm & 7:00 - 9:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family Saturday 9:30am at St. Stanislaus Church for her Tridentine Funeral Mass. Interment Irondequoit Cemetery. In memory of Janice, memorial donations may be directed to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240 or Masses may be offered for the repose of her soul.
