Matthews, William
Irondequoit: Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the age of 79. Predeceased his parents, William S. & Mary M. (Arendt). He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley (Nicoletta) Matthews; daughters, Joan(Jim) Hecht of Cincinnati, OH, Julie(Keith) Pinto of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Chris & Anna Hecht, Nick & Elizabeth Pinto; sister, Judy(Joseph) Detterman of Oklahoma City, brother, Paul(Jane) Matthews of Moore, OK; sisters-in-law, Connie Klemow, Jean Landschoot & Jo Anne Carr; many nieces and nephews.
Bill was a University of Notre Dame graduate and a Project Engineer at Eastman Kodak Co. for 30 years. He enjoyed his family, friends, traveling, playing golf, basketball and doing home projects. He was an active member of Christ the King Church for 50 years.
His family sincerely appreciates the dedicated care provided by Dr. Jeffrey Liberman, the staff at Lipson Cancer Center and Visiting Nurse Service.
His family will receive friends SUNDAY 3:00 - 5:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family MONDAY 11:00am at St. Kateri at Christ the King Church for his memorial mass. Interment Irondequoit Cemetery.
