Obituary of Julius F. McNutt

McNutt, Julius F. Irondequoit: Monday September 16, 2013 at age 90. Julius was born March 12, 1923, oldest of nine children; predeceased by his siblings, Robert, Francis, Nydia (Sister Mary Isabella, SSND), Julia, Leverne, and Arthur, and by parents Francis and Mary Isabella (Steubing). He graduated in 1941 from Monroe High School and later attended the University of Rochester; worked at Eastman Kodak for 42 years (1941-1983); served in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1945 earning a Distinguished Flying Cross and 4 Air Medals for B-17 bombing missions in 1943; was active in Sacred Heart Cathedral activities for 32 years as an usher, fund raiser, Cub Pack 68 secretary and Scout Troop 68 chairman, and in CYO athletics; later attended regular services at St Thomas and Holy Cross churches; was a life member and local chapter chair of the International Society of Materials. He is survived by the love of his life, partner, and caregiver, his wife of 67 years, Joanne; by sons, Michael (Suzanne) Ph.D., Philip (Mary) Esq., and Douglas (Bonnie) Esq.; by grandchildren, Jason (Eileen), Martin, Megan, and Kara; by great grandchild, Ava; by sisters, Verna Dillman and Mary (Louis) Tiberio; and by many nieces and nephews. He expressed special affection for nieces, Linda (Michael) McGill and Kathy (Frank) Pellegrino and their families. His family will receive friends THURSDAY 4:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family FRIDAY 10:00am at St. Kateri at St. Thomas the Apostle Church for his funeral mass. Entombment White Haven Memorial Park. Donations may be directed to Mt.
