Obituary of John M. Robertson

Robertson, John Majilton Rochester: Friday, May 22, 2009 at the age of 93. Predeceased by his wife Doris. He is survived by his daughter, Lesley(George) Gibbs; a younger sister, Isabella Coble of Maryland; a fair number of nieces and nephews on both sides of the Atlantic. John served in WWII with the Royal Signals from 1939 to 1946 before resuming duties in the engineering dept. of the UK Telephone System. In 1953 John emigrated to Stamford, CT to follow a few family members, and in 1955 joined Rochester Tel's outside plant engineering dept. John was the past president of Rochester Engineering Society and membership in the Telephone Pioneers of America were typical community interests during his career, followed by consulting engineering work for Rochester Tel. in retirement. Friends are invited to meet the family Sunday May 31, 3:00 PM at NORTH BAPTIST CHURCH for his memorial service. Interment private Irondequoit Cemetery.
