Rochester: Peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 16, 2014 at the age of 96. Born in N. Danville, VT on July 20, 1917. Pre-deceased by her husband of 46 years, Nicholas J. Love Sr, and son William. Brenda is survived by her children, Nicholas (Carol) Love, Constance Gomez, Raymond (Phyllis) Love, Carol (Art) Hermann, Mary (Larry) Marangoni, and Lois (Daniel) Thom; grandchildren, Jim (Daniel Jaquez) Love, Alice (David) DeMallie, Catherine (Ira Miller) Love, Peter (Tracy) Hermann, Karen Hermann, Brenda (Rob) Abshear, Steven Gomez, Kelly DeFrees, and Michael Thom; great-grandchildren, Cecilia and Louise DeMallie, Skylar and Alanna Burlee and Ava DeFrees; sister Florence Lourette; dear friend Cheryl Sauter and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
Brenda's interests included quilting, gardening, reading and caring for her family. Brenda was a past President of the Genesee Valley Quilt Club and a member of this organization for many years. Brenda was a Literacy Volunteer, a supporter of the Susan B. Anthony House, Sojourner House and children's causes. She was a foster parent to several infants and was the best mother seven children could ever have!
The family appreciates the support of Dr. William Rolls and Dr. Peter Kouides whose excellent care contributed tremendously to Brenda's quality of life.
Friends are invited to meet the family on Saturday, April 19 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Interment at Oakwood Cemetery privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Literacy Volunteers of Rochester, 1600 S Avenue # 100, Rochester, NY 14620 or Planned Parenthood of Central and Western NY, 114 University Avenue, Rochester, NY 14605.
