Obituary of Michael Travis

Travis, Michael Fairport, NY, formerly of Irondequoit, NY, suddenly entered into rest on March 22, 2014 at the age of 61. Michael is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Anne Travis, brother Mark, his grandparents and his beloved canine, Tanner. He is survived by his daughters, Cheri Lynne (David) McDonald and Jessica M. Travis (Joe Hoser), and their mother, Kathleen Meyer; two grandchildren, Nathan and Madelyn McDonald; his former in-laws, Richard and Jean Kent; seven sisters: Carey (Frank) Travis-Luebbe, Nancy (Mark) Tellier, Martha (Bill) Hanley, MaryLynn (Jerry) Sturnick, Sarah, (Mark) Sennett, Susan Travis and Betsy (David) Simpson; Five former sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary (Karl) Schroeder, Jim (Kay O'Beirne) Kent, Joe (Gina) Kent, Anne (Dan) Hull, Terry Travis; 28 nieces and nephews, 31 great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, his life-long best friend, Joe (Anne) Sullivan, and many more friends and co-workers. Michael had a never-ending zest for life that never kept him down! He loved his family and friends dearly and served them unconditionally. His generosity was beyond measure and he went above the call of duty at every opportunity. He died as he lived.with courage and perseverance. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His family will receive friends Wednesday 1-3pm & 6-9pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South), where his memorial service will be held Thursday 11:00am. Interment will be held in private.
