Nonie Hartnett White posted a condolence
Friday, December 5, 2014
My father, John B. Hartnett was chairman of the Board of Haloid-Xerox and Xerox and a friend of John Hayashi.
I remember as a child that "Johnnie" Hayashi brought the first working copy machine to our school (Harley School) and demonstrated it for us. I was in the class of 1956. I have only fond memories of that event and of the sincere affection that both of my parents felt for him. I am glad that he had a long, and hopefully happy life, and wish to extend my condolences to his descendants.
Sincerely,
Nonie Hartnett White

Although we only met John once, he made a lasting impression with his beautiful nature. He was interested and interesting, He made everyone feel that they were part of his "inner circle". Our deepest sympathy to the family of John Hayashi. Love & Hugs

We were blessed and fortunate enough to know John Hayashi for the past few years. We would sit and listen in awe to any story from his past that he would share with us. It always struck us as amazing that he would be equally interested in knowing what we were doing or thinking, as he would lean in and say, "Really?" John's genuine, dear spirit will remain with us always. Yes, really, John. Love always, Joan and Fred McLean
