Obituary of Thomas John Spaker
Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Spaker, Thomas J.
Irondequoit. Passed suddenly on January 14, 2015 at the age of 67. Preceded in death by his parents, Francis & Mary. Tom is survived by his wife Margaret, son Peter & wife Danielle, daughter Anne Machi & husband Matthew, grandchildren Thomas & Charles Spaker, sister Joanie Hasselwander & husband Alan, and the mother of his children, Jeanne Spaker.
Tom graduated from John Carroll University in 1967 with a degree in Psychology. He was a veteran of the US Army and served as an officer from 1970-1972. Tom (or "Little T," as his cousins nicknamed him) was known for his loud laughter, great sense of humor and hilarious impressions of the Godfather and Jack Nicholson. He had many hobbies, including marksmanship, fishing, and blackjack. Tom had a love for music; he enjoyed playing piano and guitar and loved The Allman Brothers Band. He also liked Italian food, gadgets, sharpening knives, and biplanes. Tom will be remembered as the kind of man who bought a plow for his Jeep just so he could clear out his friends' and families' driveways. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend.
His family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family Friday 10:00am at Peace of Christ Parish at St. John the Evangelist Church for his funeral mass. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
