The Purdell family was blessed with the good friendship of the Franco family for many years. What wonderful neighbors and friends. We are so grateful for all the fun times and happy memories. Sharon, Marie and LuAnn, may you find strength and comfort together as you carry the memory of your beloved parents forever in your hearts.

LuAnn and Bill and Marie and Chuck,
Colleen and I send our condolences to you and your Family. They had 65 years of Bliss in their marriage. That's fantastic. You are all very lucky to have them for that length of time. My parents had 61 years together so we were also lucky. Just think back to the fun times you all had because only time will ease your sorrow. I will always remember my informative conversation with both Chris and Marie at Molye's grand opening. That was the first time I met them and I felt that I knew them for years.
They were happy through those years and I'm sure they are happy together now.
Love,
Reno and Colleen

Chris was a real gentleman who loved his family and was a special friend to me. He always encouraged and supported my efforts as the first woman to join Pt. Pleasant. We always had interesting conversations as we shared many of the same interests including photography. He adored his wife, children and grandchildren and when he spoke of them he always had such a warm smile on his face. Chris and Marie had a true love affair their whole life.
I will always remember Chris and will miss him very much. Heaven has 2 new angels. Condolences to their wonderful family.

Sharon, Marie, and LuAnn: My heart aches for you. Both at one time! I do not look forward to the day I lose either of my parents let alone both at once. They lived their lives well, and our faith tells us that they are dancing with the angels now. But it's still lonely when loved ones die.
I remember playing racquetball with your dad once. I thought I could easily beat him but he kicked my butt, and told me placement is more important than power. A great lesson. I remember your mom cooking in that u-shaped kitchen, and the doghouse board in the porch entrance to your family room. And, LuAnn, playing rummy in your trailer on the driveway on summer evenings, recording our scores in the notebook.
I will put your parents in my ardent prayers for departed souls that I know. I hope they look on me kindly in their glory.

We got to know Chris & Evelyn when we joined the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse. At the time Chris was in charge of Facilities and Evelyn was in charge of the Gift Shop with one of their closest friends, Liz Rush. When I became President of the Lighthouse Historical Society, Chris was my Vice President. He was a wonderful person to work with. He always talked about his family and closest friends. His work as volunteer fireman and work at Camp Haccamo. He had many stories about both. I will never forget these wonderful words from Chris, "We may argue about an issue but we will always be friends". Words we should all remember and heed.
We already miss them both and the work that they both did at the Lighthouse will always be remembered.
I know they are both in Heaven together!
The last time I saw Chris was on September 19, 2014 when he visited the Lighthouse grounds during the tower renovation. He was so proud of what he saw. He and others kept it in good shape for many years
