I just heard about Bernie's passing. I worked with Bernie for several years while at IBM. Bernie was always a pleasure to work with. He was always willing to "dig" into what needed to be done and willing to go the extra mile to complete the job successfully. All of this with a very positive attitude. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. My condolences to his family.

Bernie had been one of the comfortable constants in our ever changing world of IBM. Kind and funny, he was always such a pleasure to work with. We will miss him very much. My heart goes out to Bernie's family and loved ones in this difficult time.

I enjoyed working with Bernie over these many years at IBM. I can not ever remember him saying a cross or bad word about anyone or anything! He was always positive and was an great example to all that worked with him how to lead with Love and respect. He demonstrated this in his actions by showing others how to lead and how to get the job done in a true professional manor. I will miss him very much and only wish God to give his family much peace in knowing he has many crowns in heaven. He walked the walk of love to all and I have to believe he will receive more love now because the way he treated us all with kindness and perfect love!

I only got to know Bernie through his weekly phone calls to my wife and his aunt Ease Halcomb but came to look forward to his calls. Bernie always found something cheerful to talk about even we knew it was a difficult time for him. He and Ease truly loved each other and I know they are now having a blessed reunion in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with Denise, Lauren, Vickie and Jim Griggs, and with his father Junie Jones. Best wishes to all. John Gregory DeLeon Springs, Fl

I worked with Bernie for many years at IBM until I retired last year. Whenever we talked we always ended up laughing and joking. Even when he was upset somehow he always had a great spirit. Bernie was a great colleague and a good friend. I will miss him terribly. He always was willing to be a sounding board for new ideas and he provided a business perspective that I have not seen with anyone else at IBM. It was too soon for him to leave us.
