Obituary of Mary Margaret Creighton

Creighton, Mary Gagliano Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the age of 79. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, James E. Creighton, son, James E. (Kim) Creighton, Jr. of Rochester, N.Y., daughter, Barbara (Steve) Jarvis of Philadelphia, Pa., 4 grandchildren; Joseph & Jaime Creighton, Ryan & Rachel Jarvis, her sister, Constance (Eugene) LaMendola of Rochester, N.Y., 2 Brothers; Antonino (Jean) Gagliano , Joseph (Carole) Gagliano also many nieces & nephews. Mary was a long-time resident of Colonie, N.Y. and was currently residing in The Villages, Florida. Born and raised in Rochester, N.Y., Mary received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Nazareth College and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Mary was the Executive Director of Foster Care and Adoption for the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, where she served for 20 years prior to retirement. She found great purpose in this role and had a passion for serving and supporting families throughout her career. Mary also loved traveling, cooking, socializing, gardening and her family. Her strength and faith were an inspiration that guided her throughout her life. Her family will receive friends THURSDAY 4:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South) Rochester, N.Y. Friends are invited to meet the family FRIDAY 9:30 AM at ST. KATERI AT CHRIST THE KING CHURCH for her funeral mass. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
