Don, Arlene, & Family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of John's passing. I have great memories of #21
streaking down the side lines in his red and yellow Irondequoit Vikings uniform on his
way to yet another touchdown, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this worst of
times.

Such a beautiful soul with immense and intense love for his family. I was so very lucky to be someone in his life and I loved John's smile and humor about life. His smile was contagious, his thoughts for his future were a 'given', and his love for people was unshakeable. We lost a real treasure for those of us on this world, and I only pray that God had John's hand in bringing love and happiness to those who we have lost in heaven.

The day I learned that John had passed my 1st thought was wow the world just got a little smaller. We have lost another great one. John Ritter was one of the 1st people I met when I moved to the city. He always greeted everyone with a smile, a handshake, and said hi in that voice that only John had. He is one of the few who called me Kimmy. He always made me feel welcome, and most of all, like I belonged at whatever place I happened to run into him at. I haven't seen him in years but I don't doubt this loss has had an impact on the world and I know he is missed by many. Thank you being such a positive impact in my life and may you rest in peace John.

I went to middle school and high school with John. What I remember most about John was his great smile and kind words (and of course his shockingly red hair!). My thoughts and players go out to his family. May God Bless and keep you all well.
Sincerely,
Julie Matthews Pinto

John was the most genuine person I have ever met in my life. The memories of the many crooked smiles and laughs we shared will forever be in my heart.
Because of John, I became a better person. He was always there with an ear and great advice. And a story to tell you to make you feel better.
God, John had so much live experience. He could help you through anything.
From the late nights at the bar to him helping me finish my parents' basement, every memory I have with him is a great one.
I am completely heartbroken. But, I know you would not want it that way John. You will be with me always. I'm so sorry we didn't speak more often the past year.
I will always love you my friend.

I feel blessed to have had John in my life. His laugh still rings in my ears. He helped to bring so many of us together as friends. May we all be comforted by the fact that we ever knew him and that we were able to call him=friend.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Ritter,
You raised a great man. He was loyal caring friend who always had me in his thoughts. Even if time didn't allow for face time, we'd make sure to reach out to one another.
We can rest easy now, knowing John is resting now. His spirit of willingness to help physical and mentally will live with in me.
We worked side by side every Fri. and Sat at a club called Idols from 1988-1989. As his travel took him out of Rochester we stayed closed. I talked to him in late April and he seemed be on the mends from his physical challenges.
I'm going to miss his soothing voice, he was such a genuine person, when he asked "how are you..? You knew he meant it.
I'm truly grateful to have him as friend.
God Bless,
Michael A

I've known John since middle school and he was always a kind and giving person. He was exactly the kind of friend you would have wanted if you could have made one in a laboratory. He was a gentle soul who was always quick with an inspirational word and a listening ear. He was genuine in every way and he was loved by many. He touched many lives including mine. I join John's family in mourning the loss of such an amazing person. He will never be forgotten.
