Obituary of Michael P. Vadala

Vadala, Michael P. Pittsford: (January 30, 1920 – August 3, 2015) An inspirational man, leader, husband, father, and grandfather, Mike left this world peacefully after loving his family, friends, and his work. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary in 2014. Survived by children Michael (Peggy), Cathy, Joanne (Mark Simmons), and seven grandchildren: MaryKate, Michael, Meaghan, and Marty Vadala and Summer, Roman and Shea Simmons. Also survived by his sisters, Jennie Mercurio and Angie Roffo of Syracuse. Raised in Syracuse, he lived in Brighton since 1966, retired from the Chamber of Commerce as VP of Economic Development in 1986, and then enjoyed winters in Florida and summers in Rochester for many years. A proud graduate of Syracuse University, he rarely missed a football game between 1932 and 2012. Mike's SU highlights included attending the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans in 1988 and attending the National Basketball Championship in 2003 when SU won the title. Mike and Mary loved to dance and sought out big bands for their several nights out each week. Their love of music lives on through their children and grandchildren. Mike enjoyed his last four years at Heather Heights with his friends and caregivers. We will all miss Mike's incredible sense of humor, his positive outlook, and genuine love of life. We will never forget him. His family will receive friends Thursday 4:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family Friday 10:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church for his funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
