Please share a memory of Kathleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kendell, Kathleen (Doyle) West Irondequoit: Monday, December 14, 2015 at the age of 63. Predeceased by her parents, George & Marilyn. She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Jonathan (Erin) Doyle, Meghan Doyle, Sean Doyle, Kendell Doyle; grandchildren, Mallory, Patrick, Kearsten; loving companion, Richard Maggi; many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Kathleen proudly grew up in Irondequoit all of her life. Many know Katie through her environmental activism, involvement with her children, or work. Katie was an active member of the Kodak Community Advisory Board concerning environmental issues. She also spent many years in the restaurant business and had a loyal following of customers. She was also a member of the PTA and known to many around Irondequoit for her regular attendance at her children's sporting events. Everyone knew when Katie got to one of her Children's games because she never forgot her big iron bell to cheer her kids on. Kathleen is known to her friends as either Kathy, Katie or Kath. Although there may be differences of opinion on her proper nickname, her friends agree that Katie is an extremely loyal friend. You could always depend on her to be there for you. She maintained strong relationships with friends throughout childhood, to Bishop Kearny, through her various ventures as an adult. Many can agree that Katie had a special magic about her, because she was able to touch the hearts of many and make new friends nearly everywhere she went. That magic persists because we know that Kathleen will never be forgotten because she has made a mark on the lives of many. One of Katie's proudest accomplishments was her family. Family was the most important thing to her and she selflessly put the needs of her children in front of her own. She showed her children unconditional love and support and ensured they grew up with many cherished memories and traditions. Katie had so much love to give that she quickly became a second mom to many of her children's friends. She made sure that everyone knew her door was always open for anyone who needed a place to stay, a delicious meal, or even a warm hug. Kathleen will always be remembered as a fun loving, honest, passionate, full hearted, spunky, compassionate, beautiful, wonderful woman. Her friends and family thank her for everything she did and all of the love that she shared. We will continue to carry Kathleen's heart in ours and she will never be forgotten. Calling Hours will be held Friday 4-7pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S). Friends are invited to meet the family Saturday 9:30am at St. Kateri at St. Margaret Mary Church for her funeral mass.
