Cortese, Nicholas J. Rochester: Friday, January 8, 2016 at the age of 87. He was a beloved husband of 67 years to Josephine E. (Achille) Cortese. Also survived by his sons, Robert (Thelma), John (Denise); daughters, Sandra, Marlene, Debbie, Andrea (Chris) Petricone; grandchildren, Dawn (Tony) Arcarese, Jeffery (Angela), Brian (Veronica), Andrew, Christopher, Jason, Sean (Holly) Hayes, Steven Hayes, Brianna & Ethan Petricone, Ryan & Gabrielle; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph (Jean); several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Paul Ruggeri. Predeceased by his parents, John and Eva; brother, Anthony; sisters, Ann Bracci, Jeanette Strassner. He was a Marine who served in WW II as a China Marine. He was an active member and former Post Commander of Cooper Marine Post 603. Retired from Eastman Kodak where he was employed for 32 years in the Construction Division as a painter. He also worked part-time as an Usher at Silver Stadium and the War Memorial. He enjoyed spending time playing cards with his family during family events and holidays. He enjoyed watching baseball especially the Yankees. He enjoyed working around the house and the camp in Sodus, NY. Mostly important to him he was a family man who prioritize his free time around spending with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. He and his wife always enjoyed going to Peppermill Restaurant to meet his oldest son who is a Rochester Police Officer for coffee and donuts. The family would like to thank the Jewish Home, 3 Southwest for their compassionate care given to Nicholas. His family will receive friends SUNDAY 1:00 - 4:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South), where his funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM. Interment private. Memorial donations may be directed to Honor Flight
