To Milo's family, My prayers and thoughts are with you. I grew up on Oakwood Rd. about 4 houses down from Milo's family - on the other side of the street - 507. Being 3 years younger than Milo, my memories of him are from the High School days when he played basketball with the St. Charles CYO team - coached by my father, Joe Murphy. Milo was by far, one of my Dad's favorite teenagers and a really good player. He would very often ride to the games with my Dad and other teammates and ME!!! Little did he know what a CRUSH I had on him (along with many ,many other St. Charles cheerleaders and female classmates!! ) He knows now, as he looks down on all of his loved ones and so many friends from the past and the present who are remembering him. May you all be blessed with the Lord's PEACE. Sincerely, Nancy Murphy DeVey

Many fond memories of the Back Bay 4 playing Splash Dances at Grandview Beach. Those were the days my friend.....
Some nights after school, Milo, Bob Dennis, Jerry Empey and I would gather near Father Burns office at the end of the hall (3rd floor?) and sing. (The hallway provided great acoustics). These impromptu sessions were pure joy. I have no idea how they started nor how it was that Father Burns was such a willing participant. We would be dressed for going home, books in hand and just start singing. Milo and I found the cracks in the harmony and Jerry and Bob and father Burns added their wonderful voices. We even sang at AQ night at The Barn in Henrietta....as I recall it was the alma mater and Unchained Melody. Everyone knows what a talented joyous person Milo was, I feel blessed to have been a small part of his life. Unforgettable!

To Mary Ellen and Family,
Bud and I wrote this memo to all of Milo's classmates at St. Charles who have kept touch through the years. We thought you would like to read it. We all send our love and prayers. This is the text Bud sent to Milo's classmates :
Hello again to all of you, Milo's friends!
Just to let you know that the Funeral Service for Milo was beautiful and peaceful - a great send-off for a great man. I picked up Sister Dismas at the St. Stanislaus convent and we went to the Mass at Christ the King Church. There was a good number who attended, and from St. Charles beside Sister Dismas and myself, I saw Bob Deegan, Mary Munger, Sisters Moira Monaghan and Isabelle Burns, and Fred and Karen Ackerman.
Milo's son John gave a wonderful eulogy at the beginning of the Mass - both touching and humorous memories of Milo. Father Trovato, Basilian priest. at Christ the King, celebrated the Mass, Milo's 6 granddaughters brought up the gifts at the Offertory, and Milo's 4 sons and 5 grandsons were the pall bearers.
It was so good to see Sister Dismas. She is as awesome as ever. Still working at 93 (?) and lively, jovial, funny, understanding as we remember her to be. She had sent a beautiful note to Milo before his died, telling him to look forward to experiencing the most amazing and wonderful, unimaginable life that was awaiting him in Heaven. Milo's son John mentioned in his remarks how much that message of Sister Dismas meant to Milo and Mary Ellen and all of the family. Leave it to Sister Dismas. She is always watching out for all of us.
I heard from Dick Dohr and Bob Neary, and Carol contacted Bev Benham. Bob Dennis, and Roselyn. Hopefully the word has reached the others.
We will miss him, but we know Milo, our intrepid Class President, is looking out for all of us from Heaven!
Best to everyone,
Bud

Mary Ellen and Family,
We are so sorry to hear about Milo. Our sincere condolences to you all.
I grew up with Milo starting in the first grade at St. Charles. Many memories are now going through my head but I remember one where he helped me. In our college years Milo and his band used to play at a nightclub down by the lake, can't remember the name. One night I was sitting at a table with friends and Milo came over to me and said "Dick, I need your help." I said "OK" and he took me up on the stage. Evidently his bass player could not make it. He picked up this huge base and said "here, put your left hand here at the top and put your finger down on this string and then with your right hand finger at the bottom strum the same string in time with the beat of the drums." I played a few of the songs and thought I did pretty good. There was no one else in the place that agreed with me.
Milo, I thank you for being my friend and helping me and my family over the years and for helping me to decide not to pursue a music career.
With our love and sincerest sympathies to you all.
Dick & Marlene

Dear Mrs. T, Steve, Mike, Pete, John, and families,
I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. T. was indeed a great guy. We all go back 40 plus years through St. Charles and Oakwood Road. If I had a dime for all the delicious dinners I enjoyed with your family back in the 70's, I'd be a rich man. I'm quickly reminded of Mr. T. jammin on the piano after dinner. He and all of you always made me feel so welcome. I'm also quickly reminded of every thanksgiving prayer the 7 of us said together before each and every one of those meals.
Much love to all of you. Talk soon.

Dear Boys and Mary Ellen,
Many fond memories of my youth include your family and Milo (shirtless of course) at Silver Lake. I even maintain a pair of trunks that I do my choirs in that I affectionately refer to as my "Milo shorts". I am thankful to have known him. Whenever someone tells a bad lawyer joke I always remember: not all lawyers are heartless. Milo was so very kind.
I can only imagine how much you will miss him until that glorious day when you are reunited in heaven. I expect Sybil, George, and Marcy have already greeted him. Peace to all of you in this season of sadness.
Your Childhood Friend and Brother in Christ,
Doug

My parents had the cottage next door at Silver Lake for many years. We were a big, loud Italian family. Mr. T and his family were wonderful neighbors. Our Silver Lake memories will always fondly recall Mr. T. He was a gentleman and a friend to my parents even after they left their lake family. Rest in peace Mr. T.

I clearly remember one evening in the early 60's. Cathy, Carolyn and I were staying at grandma Touchette's house on Hurlburt road. Grandma put us to bed but were distracted by something going on outside that was very exciting to us. We huddled together and peered out the large 2nd story window to witness Aunt Mary Ellen's NEW boyfriend brining her home from a date! He pulled up in front of this very grand home, opened the door for her and kissed her goodnight. We were giddy with happiness for her. It was like a fairy tale. Through the years I have often thought of what a wonderful and kind man Uncle Milo was and what an amazing team Milo and Mary Ellen made. I am so sad for the entire Tomanovich family. I know how much he will be missed.
Love you all,
Jackie

Dear Mary Ellen, John, Steve, Pete, and Michael,
My heart breaks to hear of Milo's passing. He was a father figure to all of us kids back on Oakwood Road. I will never forget the twinkle in his eye when he would talk to me (pick on me, lol), how he could make me laugh (and blush), going to see him play at the Moose Lodge with you all and listening to him play his happy music from next door (we LOVED hearing it!). He was a great man and he will surely be missed by all who knew him. I can not make it back for the services, since I am in Indiana. But you are all in my thoughts and prayers, and I'm sending you all hugs and support from afar.
With love to all, Michelle (Shelly) Hessdoerfer Northrup

Mary Ellen, my very deepest condolences to you and all your family. Milo was such a special man. There was nothing more I looked forward to than waiting on the two of you almost every Tuesday at Mr. Dominics. I will truly miss our routine talks and sharing of Notre Dame football. Rest in peace Milo.
