Burns, Virginia E. (Konieczny) Irondequoit: Passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on March 21, 2016 at age 88. Ginny learned her lifelong work ethic early in life from her parents Stanley and Julia Konieczny at the family grocery store on North Street. She passed her values on to her cherished children Linda (Fred)Petrunak, David (Margaret)Burns, Tom(Ann) Burns, and Maureen (Rick)Qualey; 12 grandchildren: Michael, Jenna, Elyse, Collene, Hannalore, Zachary, Neal, Alex, Julia, Graham, Matthew, Samantha, and 4 great grandchildren: Jackson, Ava, Cooper, and Abby. Ginny was predeceased by Robert, the love of her life and husband of almost 60 years, her sisters and brothers-in-law Irene Henry (Richard) and Dorothy Steinmiller (Bruce), and her sister-in-law, Nancy Konieczny . She is survived by her favorite brother Stanley Konieczny (Rilda), her dear sister-in-law Arline Hasenauer, many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and treasured friends. Her children would like to say a special thank you to her loving caregivers at Sunset House. Prior to raising her family on Somershire Dr. in Irondequoit, Ginny worked for Pfaudler, Inc. in their international office. Ginny will be remembered for her love of books, her endless curiosity about the world, her legendary geraniums, and her absolute passion for and knowledge of college basketball. Go Zags! The family will receive friends Friday April 1, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Hwy., South. Funeral mass and interment will be held in private. The family requests no flowers, Donations in Ginny's memory may be made to Sunset House, 3746 St. Paul Blvd., Rochester, NY 14617.
