Dear Condello Family,
Too long it has been since our families have seen each other or been in touch. It is unfortunate that we reconnect at such a sad time. I am truly sorry for the loss of Aunt Mary. She will forever be in my mind as my fun-loving, happy-go-lucky great aunt.
My twin sister, Jennifer (Sheldon) Barrett, shared with you my most favourite memory of Aunt Mary. What my sister forgot about that day was the following detail:
Aunt Mary approached Jen and I on the dance floor to show us how the dance should really be done. The tarentella I believe it was. As soon as I saw Aunt Mary kicking her leg up and clapping underneath like a cheerleader, two thoughts came to mind: 1) Is she for real? And 2) Wow, Aunt Mary, you are pretty limber! Needless to say, despite Aunt Mary's efforts, we didn't take her seriously and failed to learn the dance successfully. She gave up on us, threw her hands up and went back to her seat. My sister and I continued the polka until the song was done. I am sure we disappointed many Italians that day by dancing the polka to the tarentella, Aunt Mary included!
Though this is a very difficult time for you all, I hope my story helped soften your grief and pain, even for a moment. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless!
My condolences,
Jill (Sheldon) Micomonaco

What a touching memorial video of Aunt Mary and her family. We enjoyed watching all the memories with a tear in our eyes. May Aunt Mary rest in peace with Uncle Joe, they will not be forgotten. It was such a joy to have her in our lives.

To the entire Condello Clan:
For those who don't know or remember me, I am Diane Sheldon's daughter, Ida and John Longo's grand daughter, and Aunt Mary's niece.
I wanted to share my fondest memory of Aunt Mary with all of you. We were at my Uncle John and Aunt Jolene's wedding. The DJ played a special Italian song. My sister (Jill) and I started dancing the Polka. It was then that Aunt Mary showed off her awesome moves on the dance floor and taught us the correct way to dance to that song. If memory serves, Aunt Mary dominated the dance floor all night! It was then that Aunt Mary became my idol!
When my parents told me Aunt Mary had passed away from Alzheimer's, my heart went out to your family. Being a nurse, I understand it is hard to watch your loved one progress through an ailment like Alzheimer's. I know what kind of toll taking care of someone with this disease can take on someone, physically, emotionally, and mentally. Even though she has passed, I'm glad to know she isn't suffering anymore.
From my own professional and personal experience, the spirit does not leave those they love until they know their loved ones are alright. So do me a favor, talk to Aunt Mary and tell her I said hi! Who knows, maybe she is hanging out with my grandma right now, looking down and comparing notes!
I'm truly sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and heart.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Sheldon (Barrett)
