Curtis, Albert R.
Irondequoit: Friday, April 29, 2016, at the age of 100. Predeceased by parents, Aldo and Maria Cursi, sisters Ione Sheldon and Rina, and brothers Glauco and Ivo. Survived by his wife Jennie, sons Richard and Robert (Kathryn), granddaughter Lori Beth (Paul) Manarchuck, grandson Michael, great granddaughter Mary Kathryn, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joseph and Angelina Magro, and several nieces and nephews. Al worked into his late 80's as an independent insurance agent, and into his mid-90's as a tax preparer. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and the countless stories he loved to share with friends and clients. Al enjoyed sports, including fishing and golf, and liked attending LPGA tournaments and watching figure skating and football. Al especially loved attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, and was an avid fan of his New York Yankees. He enjoyed travelling, especially to Oxbow Lake, Saranac Lake, and Lake Placid, as well as Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Las Vegas. His lasting legacy is his love and devotion to his family, most notably to his lovely wife Jennie, and his loyalty to friends.
Al's family will receive friends at the Paul W. Harris Funeral Home (570 Kings Hwy South) on Friday, May 13, 2016, from 4-7 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at ST. KATERI at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CHURCH (4536 St. Paul Blvd.) at 11 AM on Saturday, May 14, 2016.
