Obituary of Sally Seymour

Seymour, Sally (Gary) Irondequoit: Sally Gary Seymour passed away peacefully at home with her family on Sunday, July 3, 2016. Predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Sally is survived by her children, Regina Doran, Anne (Scott) VanValkenburg, Patricia Scherberger, Janet (Timothy) Young, Richard G. (Julie), and David (Joan); 18 Grandchildren; Karin, McKenna, Claire, Kevin, Laura, Janet, Mark, Amy, Ryan, William, Nathan, Sarah, Merci, Allison, Lauren, Shannon, Joshua and Meghan; 4 Great Grandchildren, Liah, Jillian, Colin, and Molly. Sally was born in Tomhannock, N.Y. on January 30, 1926. She was the daughter of George and Charlotte Gary. She is also predeceased by siblings; David, Dorothea, Ester, Claire and Bern. She graduated from Russell Sage College in Troy, N.Y. in 1947 with a Bachelors degree in Nutrition and was a practicing Dietician. She met Richard while he was attending RPI in Troy and they married in September, 1952. They moved to Rochester, N.Y. and had 6 children. She was an active member of the Russell Sage Alumni Group. She was a member of St Kateri Parish and did extensive community and service work for her parish. Sally volunteered for the Meals On Wheels for over 25 years. She was a Laidlaw school bus driver for many years. She was very involved with her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to be with them for their school, sporting, church or any event. Her family will receive friends FRIDAY 5:00 - 8:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family SATURDAY 11:00 AM at ST. KATERI AT CHRIST THE KING CHURCH for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
