Oberle, Niña Therése
Irondequoit: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the age of 97. Predeceased by husband William Oberle; brother William Moran Burke; sisters Anne Arthur (Clayton), Norita Messick (Sam); son Peter Oberle. She is survived by her sons Mark Oberle (Mardie Lynne), Luke and David Oberle; daughters Clare Brown (Lindsey), Martha Wallace (James); 7 grandchildren: David Wallace (Brother James), Daniel Wallace (Sarah), Heidi and Katherine Wallace; Gillian and Benjamin Brown, William Oberle; stepgrandaughter Annie Farman (Richard); 3 great grandchildren: Hamza and Faris Ayub; Nina Wallace, and 2 step great grandchildren, Asa and Ione, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Niña was the daughter of Michael and Margaret Burke and was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. She graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in 1939. Niña was a First Lt. in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942-1948 and served 3 years in the Fiji Islands during WWII.
A memorial mass in her honor will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 23rd at St. Kateri at Christ the King Church (445 Kings HWY So.). There is no prior calling. Memorials may be directed to www.honorflightrochester.org.
