To us all, the inevitable comes. And now to one so loved, one so dear, one so special and one who touched so many. My Aunt Annie, as she was always known to me from childhood, was a person with the gift to make those she spoke to feel special; she did. I know that because I am living proof of that. She just had a knack, a way, I felt it then as a child and I felt it right up to the last time we spoke. My cousins--her children--Laurie, Nancy and Phil know what I mean. But I'm sure many others do as well. I think I will always be grateful to her for making me feel loved. To my cousins, I am so sorry she's gone, so sorry. I only wish I had the power to will her back to be amongst us once again: laughing, talking and just being the fun person she always was. If it is any comfort to you, know this, I will carry her in my heart for all my living days. That's a promise. And my son, Isaiah Lopez, will know of his Aunt Annie through photos and memories of her. That's a promise, too. One day he'll inevitably ask me, "Dad, did she have a good heart?" And I'll reply, "Oh son, she had a beautiful heart! Beautiful!". I love you all.

Mom's last Christmas, 2015, at the Zicari family home on Sagamore Drive, where mom was delivered by a mid-wife. In the picture are her great-grandchildren, Elijah and Leah Pope, Great-grandniece and nephew, Isabel and Milo Zicari, her wonderful nephews, Steven, and wife Tina, and Zev Zicari. She loved them all dearly and took such joy in watching everyone grow.

I surprised mom at Christmas 2015, our last play together with tickets to see "White Christmas" at the Auditorium Theatre. Mom loved live theatre ever since she was in high school where she appeared in several productions. She loved going to see shows on Broadway and introduced myself, and then her granddaughters, Danielle and Alicia, to the theatre and the arts. I'm going to miss going to a show or to the Memorial Art Gallery, along with all the other great things about her, her zest for life, her charm and wit, and, of course, her stories. I could go on and on about all her wonderful qualities but I'd run out of room. Whether you knew mom for a lifetime or had the pleasure of meeting her and building a friendship, whether for a long time, or briefly, she left a lasting impression. Forever and ever in my heart mommy. I miss you so much already. Love loving daughter, Nancy Ellen
