I am saddened to hear of the death of my Godfather but cannot help but smile when I have had the days to reflect on his positive influential role in my life. I will always remember fondly all the 4th of July celebrations we all had together. As kids bothering him in the beer tent asking for money. He always seemed to have more as the day went on. I remember his visits to our house and his insistence to park his car on our lawn just to piss off my father. And I remember clearly during my Confirmation his play call during the Bishop's homily and trying as hard as I could not to laugh. I learned from him a joyful side to Catholism and not just doing what you were told to do. I was thinking of Peter as I watched Notre Dame playing NC State this year. I am sorry I cannot be with you all celebrating his life but I am thinking of you all. I am a better person and so very grateful that Peter was a part of my life.
