Mrs. Mueller, Patty, Bill and family,
How very sorry we are to read of Coach Mueller's passing. "The Bear" was a wonderful teacher and coach, but more importantly a human being. I am glad I had the fortune of first learning to swim from him during the summer at Pittsford Sutherland's pool and later having him as a teacher at Sutherland. He cared about his students, not just as players or as students, but as people and helped shape our lives by teaching us all the values of hard work, respect and teamwork. While he is gone, his legacy will live forever in all the lives he touched over the years.
Our sympathies to all of you and may God help you through this time of grieving.
Sincerely,
Donna MacKenzie, Marge MacKenzie and Karen MacKenzie

Paul was such a wonderful man, teacher coach and most of all, husband and father. Having coached against him, we shared some great games and great conversations. Paul's biggest goal was to help students and athletes become great! He did that so many times with so many individuals. I really though he would live forever with his GREAT attitude.
Now that he is Heaven, he will a fabulous angel!

Mom Mueller, Patty, Billy, Auntie, Margaret, Katharine, and all those who knew and loved this wonderful man,
Words are so inadequate at times like this. We feel your sadness, share your heartbreak and honor your love for Das Bear. I remember Dad Mueller as always smiling and always patient. The best coach and teacher for -- as well as a fan of -- all the kids whose lives he touched. He conveyed much more than the mechanics of the sports for which he was a coach and referee....he truly taught the whole student-athlete. I know how much he cared about guiding and shaping young people into good players and, more importantly, good people.
From plucking me out of a tree when I climbed too high to spending hours and hours teaching me to waterski....he never discouraged or scolded or gave up. I loved how he chuckled every time he called Margaret "Patty" when Miss M was younger. I don't think I ever saw him grumpy and his love for his family absolutely beamed out of him, brighter than the sun.
Rest well. You will be missed and never forgotten.
With love from Lizzie and Dave

To the Mueller Family (Patty & Billy); so saddened to hear this news about your dad! What a remarkable life and I have such fond memories of playing for "Bear" back in the early 1980's w/ Charlie Rumsey and my other basketball teammates! Your dad was a class act and really instilled the values of teamwork, self sacrifice and sportsmanship and I really value the lessons he taught both on and off the court! I fondly remember my first time attempting to waterski on Honeoye Lake as well. Please accept my deepest sympathies to your mom Barbara and your entire family!
Sincerely;
David Kelley, Pittsford Sutherland Class of '83 and Basketball Co-Captain-1983

May I give my deepest condolences on coaches death. I was sitting last night about 11:00 PM and read about his passing from the D&C. I currently live in Fort Myers, Fl with Sue, my wife.
I remember Paul giving me the opportunity to coach with him as his JV coach, 1975-1977. I leaned much from him on defenses and rapport with players.
As a teaching colleague with him for 11 years, he demonstrated unique organization skills as well, always making his program coaches feel comfortable. I give my warmest wishes to his wife and family. God Bless.
