Ferenc, Sophie B.
Rochester: Thursday, April 5, 2018. Predeceased by her parents, Yanek (John) & Bronislawa (Bernice) Ferenc., infant brother Thomas Ferenc, and sister Christina K. Carson (Ferenc). Survived by her cherished sister Ann Ferenc and brother John Michael Ferenc, devoted brother-in-law, Ronald J. Carson, niece and Goddaughter Danielle A. Carson-Hunt (Frank E Hunt III) and nephew Jeffrey R. Carson (Elizabeth Carson) as well as her great-niece Kendall Grace Carson and her great-nephew, Landon Thomas Carson who brought her immeasurable joy.
Sophie was a ferocious fighter. Her family will always remember her bravery and courage. She spent a great deal of her time doing charity work with the Friends of Irondequoit Library. the American Cancer Society, and the Genetaska Club of Rochester. Ambitious and determined, she started her career at Xerox at 22 and rose to the ranks of director for managing projects in long range planning before retiring. A proud daughter of immigrant parents, Sophie earned an MBA from RIT. A creative soul, she was skilled with needle craft and also dabbled in stained glass art and jewelry making. Sophie was beloved by her entire circle of friends and family. She is already deeply missed by those closest to her.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday 4-7pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S.) Friends are invited to meet the family Thursday 10am at St. Stanislaus Church for her funeral mass.Private Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society at 1120 S. Goodman St, Rochester, NY 14620.
