Myers, Douglas L., 58. Born in Decatur, IL and a longtime resident of Tucson, AZ. He passed away March 18, 2018 following a long battle with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family during his time of passing.

Survived by his beloved wife Rosemary (Colombo) of 23 years, his parents Donald and Ruth Myers, his sister Jill (John) O’Rourke, nephew Kevin O’Rourke, brother in law Samuel (Jacinta) Colombo of Syracuse, NY and sister in law Jeanne Colombo of Rochester, NY, The Colombo Family nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces of Syracuse, NY.

Doug was employed as an Instrument Maker, Designer with The University of Arizona, Research Laboratories, Machining and Welding Center. He was a Deacon and faithful member of The Holy Way Presbyterian Church, Tucson, AZ.

Doug loved outdoor activities, camping and hiking. He was an avid road and mountain cyclist. He competed in numerous El Tour de Tucson bicycle events and received many medals. In 2014 he received the Jim Elliott Inspirational Award, for cycling the 104-mile race, perimeter of Tucson, AZ, while receiving chemotherapy treatment. The award acknowledged his courage, discipline and determination. Doug was a skilled plane and ship modeler. He was an avid reader, knowledgeable in many subjects, and master in train and aviation history.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM located at the Irondequoit Cemetery, on 3671 Culver Road. A reception following, at 12:00 PM, will take place at Paul Harris Reception Facilities/Harris Family Center located on 570 Kings Highway, Rochester, NY.
