Connaughton, Patrick J.

Irondequoit; Sunday, July 15, 2018 at age 90. He was born on St. Patrick's Day in 1928 to James and Margaret. Pat was predeceased by his parents and sisters Helen, Ann, Margaret, and Elizabeth. Pat is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Catherine, devoted children; Jim (Kelly), Molly (Matt) Manzella, Kay (Martin) Hanna, Anna (Bill) Morrison, dear sister, Rosemary Oesterly, wonderful grandchildren, brothers-in law, nieces, nephews and dear friends; Julie & Dick Bauer, Al & Mary Rappenecker. Pat and Cathy hosted an annual "chip and putt" golf tournament on his backyard putting green which was fondly known as the "Connaughton Family Open". Patrick grew up in Pittsford attending School #9 – a one room school house, Pittsford High, Niagara University and started helping his father at Monroe Golf Club at age 14. He was a World War II veteran who was fortunate to participate in Honor Flight. He worked at Kodak for 33 years and in his retirement was a greenskeeper at St. John Fisher College, a member of Finger Lakes Golf Course Superintendents, avid golfer and participant in the SJFC Wednesday golf league. He was one of the first to sign up as a Good Samaritan driver for St. Cecilia's. Special thanks to Wilmot Cancer Center for outstanding care on his cancer journey.

His family will receive friends WEDNESDAY 4-7 PM at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S.) Friends are invited to meet the family THURSDAY 11:00 AM at ST. KATERI AT ST.
