Obituary of Eleanor DiGaetano

Please share a memory of Eleanor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
DiGaetano, Eleanor Danbury, CT: Quietly and peacefully, Saturday August 18, 2018 at the age of 89. Predeceased by her parents, sister and husband. She is survived by her daughters; Leana (David) Palumbo, and Susan (Michael) Kleinhammer, and her son, F. Thomas DiGaetano; grandchildren Christopher (Alyse) Palumbo, Adam (Esther) Palumbo, Nora Palumbo, Alea Kleinhammer, Kara Kleinhammer and Dana Kleinhammer; and her great-grandchildren, Stella, Pia and Madison. Our mom, Ellie, was in so many ways a model of strength, grace, wisdom, caring and faithfulness. She was; quick to smile and to joke with a twinkle in those loving eyes, capable of finding the joy in any moment, and always ready for a hug – as affection was a pressure she was always ready to bear and to express. In the last few years this Syracuse University graduate, mother of three, loyal friend, and volunteer moved to Connecticut as she needed a little day-to-day help. Her burial will see her return to Rochester. There are no prior calling hours, but a memorial service is to be held at Holy Sepulchre's All Soul's Chapel, on September 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The memorial service will be followed by the interment of ashes. The family is very grateful to the work, kindness and gentleness of the folks at the Regional Hospice and Palliative Care Center. Thus, if willing, in lieu of flowers, please donate, to the Center, at 30 Milestone Road, Danbury CT 06810.
