Obituary of Barbara Donovan Gray

Gray, Barbara Donovan Webster: Barbara Donovan Gray passed away February 16, 2019 at the age of 85. She was born on March 30, 1933, in Rochester, New York. Barb attended Charlotte High School where she was a dedicated student and cheerleader. She also started a part-time modeling career that continued after her graduation in 1951, lasting through employment with Kodak and local financial institutions. Barb was a life-long skier and sailor. As a member of the Rochester Ski Club and the Genesee Valley Ski Council, she spent time off the slopes fundraising for the U.S. Olympic Ski Team. As a Rochester Yacht Club member, she loved sailing with her second husband of 18 years, Charles Gray, on their 32-foot sloop. In 1992, they traveled to San Diego, California, to attend the America's Cup Race. Barb also enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and pickleball with a network of wonderful friends. She is survived by her sons Scott (Amy) Donovan of Virginia, Timothy (Joan) Donovan of New York, and Douglas (Lori) Gray of South Carolina; daughters Donna Gray and Pamela Gray Reger, both of California; grandchildren Fiona, Sarah, Scott, Christopher, and Grayson; sister Nancy Hanlon; and many close nieces and nephews. Her mother and father, Grace and John Dwight Butzer; her husband, Charles Gray; her former husband, Gerald Donovan; and her brother, Stanley Butzer precede Barbara in death. Barbara's memorial service will be held Thursday, April 18th at 3:00 PM at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.).
