Sharon Rosenblum

Irondequoit: age 68, passed away on March 10, 2019 after suffering a stroke. Sharon is survived by a family of friends, her niece Victoria Staszewski, nephew Austin Rosenblum, and sister-in-law, Linda Rosenblum.

Known for her generosity, determination, and achievements, Sharon made a success of whatever she tackled. An outstanding athlete from a young age, she also became a respected educator, a gifted potter, and a Master Gardner. Sharon earned a degree in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland and spent many years at Monroe County Office of the Aging where under her leadership the lives of countless seniors were enriched. Sharon gave back to her community through volunteer work.

While battling health problems since birth, Sharon lived life to the fullest. Her parties were legendary from the infamous Halloween parties in the 80’s to the themed pot-lucks in more recent years. Gardens covering her yard were a passion. Adventures included “camp-by-air” trips to the Everglades and the Keys, and an elegant camping adventure in Alaska. Recently, she enjoyed a return trip to Alaska, this time to Yellowknife, to see the northern lights.

Calling hours Saturday, March 23, 12:00-2:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S), followed at 3:00 with a Memorial Luncheon at the Out Alliance, 100 College Ave, in Rochester.
