To My Mike, From that day long ago when you walked out of my house and I looked out my window and a voice in my head said “that’s the man you’re going to marry.”

To the Family,
I have known Mike for over 30 years and if I needed anything he was always there and would get mad if I didn't. I saw
the way he treated people regardless of who they were or what they were wearing or the color of their skin as a new friend...with respect...He sometimes went out of his way to help them even if he didn't like them or what they were doing but for some reason he felt obligated to do it. Normal people if they don't like you give a simple "no thanks or no can do" but not Mike..He taught me all people are created equal and to give them a fair shake,if you can help someone just do it if you can because you never know what that will bring.
I am going to miss the many hours that I spent in the garage and the times that he would talk to me and tell me about people that I would have to talk to and how they would respond and he was usually right on. He would tell me about the neighborhood both from the past and how it is now and how much he loved the city regardless of what it looked like right now. He also helped folks that just walked in the door looking for help fixing a flat on their bike,a tow, or just a safe place because someone was after them..Mike was right there at the door either waving Hi or telling them to just move on and forget about it.
He loved his family deeply and told me time and time again how important that was to him. He always treated me like family and I treated him with respect in return.
I am mourning his loss and as you try and get through these days please do not hesitate to reach out if there is something you need done and I will make it happen as Mike would have expected me to do...that's what families do
I love you guy's and I am so sorry for your loss and the loss that the neighborhood is going through because their champion has to put down his lance now and rest.
God bless you,
Jon Remmel

How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.

Although it has been many years since I've seen your father, I remember him fondly. He was always surrounded by your family on the bay. Together your parents raised a wonderful family we've enjoyed as our Fair Haven neighbors as long as I can remember! Our family extends our condolences to yours. As it is said in the Irish blessing... "May God Hold Him in the Palm of His Hand." - Heather and Joe

Rochester has lost one of our great assets, 60+ years of generational experience will be hard to replace for sure. All of our workers prayers are with the Piacente family. Having known "Mike" though many tough business negotiations, No mater how tough the negotiations became. I have to say he was the Man that always ended meetings with "Thank You & My Grandchildren Thank You". If you have ever watched Blue Bloods – “Mike” was certainly the Tom Selleck of Towing in Rochester. There are certainly many people who would say that whenever you were with “Mike” you would always learn something – He knew every intersection in the city and what used to be there. He was the person that knew how to get things done. You immediately trusted his been there done that authority. When you say tough footsteps to follow, we can rest assured that as he takes up his new position with our father who art in heaven. All our prayers should be an attempt to leave the legacy “Mike” has…
