I will never forget Dr. James DeCaro. I got to know him when I was majoring in Architecture at NTID and met James as the chair of the department that housed the Civil Engineering/Architecture programs in 1978. My hat goes to him for done many good things for the Deaf and hard of hearing people, not only at NTID but across the country and world.

Dear Pat and family,
Missed you at the Ball Park this season. It was always such a warm treat to be greeted by you and Jim. Jim was so admired and loved by Sal when they were both working at NTID. Would be nice if I could recall some of Sal's comments but my abilities are lacking in that regard. I only know it was always an extra special day when we saw you and Jim. How blessed I have been to have been a small presence in your life. Just know your memories will keep you with a smile on your lovely face. Jim's job was so well done. May Jim rest in peace.
Love and hugs,
Dolores F. Parlato

It was an honor to be part of Jim's "team" when he was the Dean, way back when! I still remember seeing him standing in his office, looking out that big picture window, probably thinking of ways to enhance the lives of NTID students. Or perhaps he was simply enjoying the campus scenery and relieving his mind of other pressing matters, if only for a few fleeting moments in his otherwise hectic day. Father Guido, we'll never forget you! Salud!

Dear Pat and family,
We don't realize how fast time passes and how short our time is upon this earth. I remember well all the fun times I had growing up with Jim, the baseball and football games, riding bikes ,even the time playing Cowboys and Indians when he decided to hang me from a tree.(thank god our moms were keeping watch). All I have is fond memories. My prayers are with you .

Dear Pat and family, I was so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. It seems as if it was last week when the two of us walked across the platform to receive our degrees from SU. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the whole family. I know the love of friends and family will carry you and the children through this difficult time as it did me and mine many years ago. Jim was a very special person and will be remembered far into the future.
My Love, Barb McKee
