Please share a memory of Gordon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Blom, Gordon F. "Gordy" Irondequoit – December 18, 2019 at age 84. Predeceased by parents Axel and Elly. Gordy was a graduate of Bucknell University, a veteran of the US Army, and he retired as a chemist at Eastman Kodak Co. after more than 30 yrs. of service. He was generous with his time, volunteering at Salem Kitchen and Meals-on-Wheels, and mentoring through Big Brothers/Big Sisters. His many interests included growing dahlias, stamp collecting, connecting with other short wave radio enthusiasts around the world, golfing, Syracuse basketball, serving as a marshal at the LPGA and, in later years, playing cards at the Maplewood Y Lily Café. Gordy leaves many friends and those he called "family", especially the Tyler French family, Jackie and Pat Fox, and Jerry Hortop. Special thanks to Liz Lupiani for the wonderful care she provided in his final months. Friends are invited to share memories of Gordy on Tues. Jan. 7th from 11-1PM at the Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway South. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in his memory to Big Brothers/Big Sisters or Irondequoit Volunteer Ambulance.
