Obituary of Thomas George Robinson

Tom Robinson, 67, of Irondequoit, passed away in his home on January 27, 2020 surrounded by family. Tom was born on October 26, 1952 in Buffalo, NY and graduated from Frontier High School. He received degrees in education from SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Oswego. Tom married the love of his life and best friend, Phoebe and they shared over 44 amazing years together.
A true educator at heart, Tom impacted so many with his passion for learning and desire to bring out the best in everyone he worked with. In retirement, he enjoyed rose gardening, reading, and traveling. Above all else, his family was most important to him. He cherished each moment he had with his children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to support the ones he loved. Nothing made him happier than doing things for others and his calm and patient demeanor positivity impacted everyone around him.
Tom is survived by his wife, Phoebe Robinson (Galinsky); his children Becky (Kevin) Margiotta and Matt (Ashley) Robinson; his grandchildren, Ian, Sydney, Luca and Lillian; his mother Joan Robinson; his siblings, Rick (Cheech), Mike, Terry, Debbie (Rusty) Meier, and Lori (Tim) Jablonski; as well as a large extended family and many dear friends. Predeceased by his father and stepmother, Richard and Audrey Robinson.
The Robinson family would like to extend special thanks to the many individuals who helped Tom throughout his courageous battle with ALS, especially his "angels" from Lifetime Care.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 1st from 2-5 PM at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway, Rochester, NY 14617. A celebration of his life will take place at the funeral home on Sunday, February 2nd at 9 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to: Rochester Rose Society, 60 Onyx Dr, Penfield, NY 14526 or ALS Association Upstate New York Chapter.
