Aunt Edie was always the quiet one when ever the aunts and uncles got together at family gatherings but she was a strong person. She raised a great family. She will be missed by all. She is one of the last of a great generation.

We have so many memories of wonderful times our families spent together...the Dittmans, the Bements, the Paynes and all the other children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins who joined the ranks later. Edie was always memorable, with her great smile, loving nature and gentle disposition; her generosity, her devotion to Chuck and to her family, her compassion and thoughtfulness will be part of her lasting legacy to all, especially to this Dittman side of the family. We hope it gives you some measure of solace that she is so lovingly remembered.

Open the dictionary - or - Google "family" - and you will see "Bement Family " as the definition with Edith and Chuck leading their 6 children in life and picking special people to enhance each one of their child's life. The "Family" has been so, so....welcoming to me, I really have no words. Mom, thank you for always being there for me - good and bad - happy and sad. Like we said earlier today, the ones up there are waiting for you at the Pearly gates. I can not express how much I love you AND everyone attached to this family. May you, dad, Peter, and Dan rest in peace. I love and miss you all. One more thing, if Dan tells you to "Keep walking", keep walking!!!

Aunt Edie was such a kind person. Love the story , that her and my mom were friends in school , and that’s how she met uncle chuck . She suffered a lot of heartbreak in her life, but you would never know it . Love and will miss you Aunt Edie . Give everyone up there a big hug
