Penny and I spent a lot of time together as kids, and disagreed on just about everything EXCEPT how cuuuuute Donny Osmond and Kurt Russell were... AND we both loved to swim. We spent many, many happy hours swimming, going down the slide, jumping off the diving board - and then there was the Big Event - diving down to the "main drain" with our bathing caps with the ponytails attached and our diving masks and snorkels - we thought were were the absolute coolest!!! She was very funny, and I will never forget one particularly memorable Thanksgiving when she made Mary Elaine and I laugh so hard, milk came out of our noses (and all over our food, and the tablecloth, and our clothes...) We, of course, thought this was hilarious. The adults, not so much!!! I'm smiling so big just thinking about it right now. That is how I'll always remember her - gliding effortlessly through the water with her fake pigtails, laughing and free. <3 <3 <3
