Rich, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I have known you, your mom and grandparents since we were about 6 years old and have very fond memories -- school days at Briarwood/Dake, birthday parties at your house, street hockey, Strat-O-Matic games, baseball, etc. Your mom was always very pleasant and took an interest in our lives. I still enjoyed talking with her in recent years before you and I went out during your visits to Rochester. She was very kind person and I will greatly miss her.

Dear Rich,
Having known you since 5th grade it was only natural that we got to know your mother over the years. That being said, it was not until she was staying at the Jewish Home that we got to know her much better. While spending all of our time there to be with our father who was also there for therapy, we visited with Carol quite a bit. Carol and my brother Earl really hit it off and became close friends. Earl would give me the updates on your mom as they would talk on the phone often and Earl would stop in to see her when he was in Irondequoit. I remember how concerned and upset Earl was when your mother was having such a terrible experience with her failed hip replacement procedures. Again, Earl did what he could to assist Carol in any way possible, which largely consisted of being her friend and talking things over with her to let her know that so many others were concerned and praying for her. After Earl passed away I became closer to your mother as she routinely "checked in on me" to hear how I was coming along. Her support and concern through phone calls and cards was helpful and I too considered her not just as your mother but a personal friend who was "one of the gang". Please accept my condolences on Carols' passing and know that her kind demeanor and always upbeat attitude will be missed by many. RIP Mrs. Simons.

Steve, I am so grateful for the kindness and help you, Earl and your dad provided my mother. She really appreciated the times Earl and your dad visited her in the hospital. Earl would bring her a nice salad. My mother enjoyed the conversations with Earl on the phone. It was the hardest call I ever made, when I informed my mother that Earl was killed in a car accident. She felt fortunate to have seen Earl a few weeks prior at dinner. After Earl's passing she was concerned for you. Thanks, Rich

I am sorry to hear that your mom has passed away. I worked with her at the U.S. Small Business Administration until she retired. She often spoke of you and her cats. Tammi (Bennett) Parsons

I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. I moved into my home on Thorncliffe in 1961. There are only a few of the original homeowners left. She always kept her home so beautiful. She will be missed. Thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

Thank you. My grandparents were the original owners of the house in 1947. My mother grew up in this house and took ownership after my grandparents passed away. It is the house where I grew up. My mother battled health issues after retirement, but was so determined to be independent and stay in her house.

It saddens us to hear that Carol passed away. She was a lovely lady and a wonderful neighbor. We can also relate to her passion of being an animal lover and enjoying her home. Carol will be greatly missed.
