Lenore left home in Duryea, PA at age 17 to pursue a career as a photographer's model in Philadelphia. This is where she met her future husband, James (Jim) Maffei, a Staff Sergeant in the US Army.
After WWII, they married and Lenore became a bookkeeper in the garment industry for 35 years, working for Leslie Fay, EmKay and Gubiotti dress factories.
After retirement, she volunteered at Geisinger Medical Center.
Lenore and her husband, Jim were devoted members of St. Anthony's Parish (now St. Barbara's Parish) in Exeter, PA donating their time over the years to the then parish picnic to help enrich the ministry and financial income of the parish and its members.
Lenore will be remembered by her daughters and family as "Glamor Kitty" of fashion and to many of her family and friends as the "Casino Queen".
Family was her passion, especially her grand and great-grandchildren, who brought her much joy.
We will always remember you, Mom because there will never be another one to replace you in our hearts and the love we will always have for you.
She was the 8th of 13 children (8 girls and 5 boys) making 8 her favorite number.
A special acknowledgement and thank you goes out to Scott Goff (longtime partner to daughter, Linda and friend to her family in Rochester, NY) for his on-going, selfless support and help at home with Lenore's care. He became Lenore's "casino buddy" and driver. Services will be on August 29th, 2020 in Rochester, NY to celebrate her life at 4 pm at Christ The King (St. Kateri church) 445 Kings Highway, Irondequoit. A Mass will also be offered on Saturday, September 19th at her home parish of St. Barbara's (formerly St. Anthony's) in Exeter, PA.
