Oh what a great neighbor and friend Emilie was. In 1973 we moved into our home on Belmeade Road in Irondequoit. Immediately she and her husband Ed came over to introduce themselves. Our son Ryan was a toddler when we met Sean who was Emilie's grandson. Every Friday for years Ryan and Sean played since that was the day Emilie took care of Sean. We would take turns with lunches but even to this day Ryan says "no one made a grilled cheese sandwich like Mrs. Dreywood." When our daughter Heidi was born Emilie was the first one to give me a pink wrapped box with two little girl outfits which was so appreciated after having two boys. Always thoughtful, loving and generous. We would share flower tips, tea and general conversation over the fence separating our yards. One other time she made her famous clams casino and our daughter-in-law Kelly loved it so much she asked Emilie for the recipe. Emilie replied "oh no ... it's an old family secret" and she would not share. Some time later all of a sudden Kelly called me to say Emilie had sent her the recipe and it meant so much to her. Such fond memories of this wonderful lady who will be sorely missed. We love her so very much..
