Obituary of Jocelyn Marcellus

Jocelyn Marcellus, age 63, of Rochester, NY, passed away October 19, 2020. Jocelyn, affectionately known by many as “Papa Joe”, is survived by his partner, Mary Jeannot; children, Matah Marcellus, Dupoux Marcellus; grandchildren Dupoux Junior Marcellus, Michael Marcellus. His fatherly love and devotion was far-reaching and touched the lives of many whom he embraced as his very own sons and daughters.

Jocelyn was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti and relocated to the United States in 1980. Lighthearted, compassionate, and charismatic, Jocelyn could warm any room with his presence. His wisdom was matched only by his unwavering determination and sense of duty to his family (both in Haiti and the United States). He was always there to listen to your troubles, give you advice and make you laugh your heart out.

Loving father, brother, partner and true friend, Jocelyn will always be greatly loved and forever missed by all who knew him.

His family will receive friends Thursday, November 12, 4:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). His service and interment will be held privately.
