Obituary of Angeline C. Mastromatteo
Irondequoit: Angeline “Angie” Mastromatteo (Masters), age 85, of Webster and formerly of Irondequoit, died on Monday, December 21, 2020, leaving family and friends richer for having known her and made poorer by her passing. Born in Irondequoit on February 14, 1935, Angie was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Mastromatteo (Masters). She was raised and educated in Irondequoit and graduated from Nazareth Academy. She went to St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, and she received her bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Rochester with a major in nursing. Angie embraced continuous learning with graduate coursework from the University of Rochester, Boston University, Genesee Hospital, and Rosewell Park Memorial Institute. Angie worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, Eastman Kodak Company, and Monroe County Health Department. Angie was fiercely independent and passionate about healthcare and religious causes, enjoyed travel, music, making Christmas wishes true, and spending time with and advocating for family, friends, and former patients. Many benefited from Angie’s attentive nature, love, and compassionate service. She is survived by her loving siblings, Irene Saeva, Nicholas (Angela) Masters, and Anthony (Deborah) Masters, sister-in-law Donna Masters, and her many nieces, nephew, grandnieces, and grandnephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Ralph Masters, brother-in-law Franklin D. Saeva, and niece Rachel Masters.
Friends are invited to join the family Saturday, August 14, 11:00 am at St. Kateri At Christ The King Church for her memorial mass. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the American Heart Association in memory of Angie Mastromatteo.
