Obituary of Richard Joseph Orr

Orr, Richard Joseph Rochester: Thursday, January 14, 2021 at age 81. Born December 8, 1939 in Akron, OH to the late Henry and Eileen Orr; also predeceased by his sister, Patricia and nephew, Willie. Survived by his sister, Jeanne Orr; brothers, Tom (Debbie) and Bill (Peggy); nieces and nephew, Kate Orr, T.J. Orr, Elizabeth Orr Day, Allison Orr and many great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Bill Huitfeldt and Steve Cranmer and an abundance of friends and students. Richard graduated from John Carroll, Case Western and the University of Michigan. He taught at SUNY Buffalo, Clarkson Institute of Technology, Potsdam, NY and for over 30 years at Rochester Institute of Technology. Richard was known for his love of books, dry sense of humor and generosity. A special thank you to Rachel from Lifetime Care Home Health and Hospice. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a memorial service will be held when it is safe for all to gather together.
