I do not think there is a family other than my own that was such an important part of my life growing up. My family has been blessed with the neighbors "to the east" from the 60's thru the 90's. First the Reeder's and then the Rodgers. Dave and Gen (Mr & Mrs Rodgers to us kids) and Pam and Sandy could not have been better neighbors. Both Dave and Gen raised two great daughters who befriended us. When old enough Mr Rodgers would invite me over for a cold Genny at the picnic table and Mrs Rodgers would make sure we were not out there too late. In my younger days the most important rule was making sure the ball did not get too close to Mrs. Rodgers flowers! Mrs Rodgers was a kind hospitable person and took pride in her family and her home. I do recall one the graduation parties at my parents garage, when in the late hours of the evening we all "let our hair down" so to speak and we had such fun seeing all our neighbors enjoy themselves. My dad and Dave and Gen and others are having a wonderful reunion in heaven. Mrs. Rodgers will be missed by Brenda and I. Pam and Sandy our sympathy to you and please know that you and your entire family will be in our good thoughts and prayers.
